MEET WSC WESTLAKE UNIT MEMBER DENNIS KUCLER…
Background
Dennis is a native of northeast Ohio and has lived in
Westlake since 1979. He attended Northwestern and
Columbia Universities and served our nation in the
U.S. Army in Vietnam. Dennis retired in 2011 after
spending 43 years in the field of global technology
sales and sales management. He has two grown sons,
one of which lives in the Westshore area, and six
grandchildren.
Recreation
Dennis spends his retirement serving the community. He demonstrates his volunteer spirit by
teaching at the Great Lakes Science Center, working with the Greater Cleveland Sports
Commission, serving at the Westside Catholic Center, and through Educurious student mentoring.
He also enjoys golf, reading, and networking with associates.
History with the Westshore Regional CERT
Dennis has been a member of the WSC for two years and now serves not only as the Westlake Unit
Planning Deputy, but also as a member of the Advisory Committee. He also participates on the
county level with the Cuyahoga CERT Association. In addition to on-going team training, Dennis
has completed the Planning Deputy training sequence outlined in the Westshore CERT Leadership:
Criterion and Responsibilities guidelines. He feels participating in the many team activities has
provided many personal benefits.
Future Goals
Dennis is working toward certification as a CERT instructor and to expand his leadership role in
order to help the team grow in capacity and capability. He would also like to improve and develop
his first aid skills.
